Kindergarten, here she comes!

Today was Reagan’s first day of Kindergarten. We moved to Florida just in time to get her enrolled and ready to go to school. She was a little sad before school started, just because she realized she was not going to be going to school with all her Arizona friends, but as the big day got closer, she grew more excited.

This morning, she woke up and ran into our room, “GOOD MORNING”, cheery as ever. Daddy took the morning off work to drop her off at school with us, so we all got to go eat a good breakfast together before school started.

Then it was off to school to join the crowd of parents dropping kids off on the first day. We had great timing, and got there right before the heavy traffic started. We all walked to the classroom together and took a few pictures before going into the room. Reagan picked out her outfit for school and we had to get a picture of her huge backpack that she can barely carry!

Then into the classroom we went. Reagan walked right in, started talking to Ms. Young and all was good. Ms. Young is such a nice teacher and made Reagan feel so welcome. Ms. Young took a family picture of us and we got a couple pictures of Reagan before we left her to start her day. She looked very happy and comfortable as we left her. We are sure she is going to have a great day!

Mom and Dad were not sad to see her go. We were happy and excited for her, therefore no tears were shed. Mom is a little nervous about the pick up process and tomorrows drop off process, as I am dropping her at the circle and she is walking by herself to class tomorrow. I am sure it is all going to work out just fine though, it is just something new we have to get used to!

Welcome to Kindergarten, Reagan … you are getting to be such a BIG GIRL!

Under Construction ...

We are in the process of changing our look ... hopefully we will have it all together again soon. At least the blog is still viewable!

Our New House …

We are waiting to close on our house in Seminole, Florida. We had a rough time finding a house that met our criteria, but we came across this house … a 2800 square foot, corner lot, older home with fantastic landscaping. The best part of the house is that it is less than 3 miles to Scott’s office … NO MORE COMMUTE! The down side of the house is that is was built in 1972 and has not been updated since then … so we have a lot of work ahead of us to make it perfect. But this house has such great potential, it is going to be great when we are done remodeling it. And it is big enough that we will have plenty of room for company … so we will be expecting some!

The garage entrance and the backyard. The garage is in the back and there is a sunroom on the entire back side of the house that overlooks the backyard. The landscaping in the backyard is jungle like, but with some “taming”, it is going to be beautiful. 100_8963

The side of the house … we have AWESOME trees in our yard. What a difference from AZ!

One Final Goodbye

To my friends and family in Arizona …

Even though I have had a lot of experience with moving and saying goodbye, it never gets easier. I have enjoyed everything that we have done together over the past couple of years. Thank you for all that you have done to make me feel at home in Arizona. Friends and family are very important to me and to have such great people in my life has been a privilege. Thank you again and know that you will be in my heart for the rest of my life. I have been changed by everyone of you and will never forget a moment of it all.

With lots of love … Amy

Reagan’s Sad Goodbye …

Reagan wanted to have a going away party before we moved. We ended up having two parties, one with preschool friends and one with her best friends from the neighborhood. We also went up to a friends cabin with her closest friends for a few days of togetherness before we left.
Reagan is an emotional child, and I knew moving was going to be hard on her this time. She has had a rough day, knowing that this is the last time she will get to see her friends here in Arizona.
My poor girl … what doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger.

Reagan’s going away party with some of her preschool friends. We went to Peter Piper Pizza and ate lunch together and played games. She had a great time at this party, and did not seem to grasp the meaning of the get together. She left happy that she got to see her friends again. We sure did have some great friends from preschool and they all will be missed.

The kids at the cabin in Pine, AZ … they thoroughly enjoyed the porch swing, playing on it most of the time.

Her final goodbye party … a sleepover with her three best friends from our neighborhood. We ate a McDonald’s dinner finished off with some cookies. Then we watched Pippi Longstocking and played before bedtime. The girls camped out on the family room floor and had a great time together, one last time.
These girls have had two and a half years of fun together and it was very hard for Reagan to say goodbye.
