First day of First Grade!

The night before First Grade, Reagan's 2nd loose tooth is still hanging on. We tried to pull it, but it is still attached in one corner. So off to bed she went, with tooth in mouth, excited for her first day of FIRST GRADE!

When she woke up, of course, it was POURING down rain. We rushed to get her ready so we could get to the school before the big 'first day rush'. We did not get great pictures, thanks to the weather. But she was in a good mood this morning and ready to start her day, however she would not eat breakfast because her tooth hurt too much.

We managed to get to the classroom, only a little bit wet, thanks to our good timing and raincoats. She was prepared for her day, with a change of shoes for the puddles.

Her classroom has a Frog Theme this year, and we spent last week up there painting for her teacher. We painted frog ponds and a flower garden, made curtains, and helped get the room ready for the year. We are really looking forward to this year, as we love Reagan's teacher and know that she is going to excel in First Grade!

Riley's First Day of Preschool

Riley started preschool today and she was so excited. She went to bed at 6:15 Sunday night, slept all night, woke up and was dressed and ready to go by 7:00am. She had 2 hours to wait around until school started, but she could not wait. We got some cute pictures of her while we passed the time.

Excited and ready to get in the car ... Preschool here we come.

Daddy met us at the school to walk her in on her first day! Thanks Daddy, that was so special.

Bye, Sissy ... I love you.

After school was over, I drove through the car line to pick her up. She waited with all her new friends until it was her turn to come out to the car. She walked up to the car with a huge smile on her face, saying she had a great day. I asked her what she learned today, and she said "I learned to be quiet". I am guessing that means she was too talkative, which does not surprise me. However, I am sure she did NOT learn how to be quiet ... I don't think she has it in her, at least not on the first day!

GOING PRIVATE

Hello, dear friends and family.

As you may have seen, I have a live traffic feed on the blog that has been there for over a year. It is crazy to see some of the places that access my blog, the latest one being from Bangalore, Karnataka (and I don't know anyone over there, and if I do, they need to make me aware of it).

After a friend made her blog private, I started to think maybe going private is a good idea. Don't worry, you will still be able to view the blog as you do, you will just have to take a couple extra steps to view it, such as signing in.

This way, only people I know will be able to view the blog.
I don't have a problem with friends of friends viewing my blog, but I do have a problem with strangers knowing what is going on in our lives, especially my children's lives.

So, after this weekend, The Posti Family Blog will be private. If you would like to have access, just send me an email and you will be added to the list. Don't worry, most of you viewing this will automatically be on my list, but send me an email or Facebook me to make sure I don't leave anyone out!

Sorry for any inconvenience this may pose on you and I hope that you will still view and enjoy our blog. There are some wacky people out there, and my girls lives are very precious. I don't need some stranger knowing where they go to school, how old they are, how beautiful they are, and anything and everything else that I post on here.

Thanks

Goodbye Acura ... Hello Mazda!

Yep, Amy got a new car. As much as we loved the Acura MDX, it was starting to have some problems and so we traded it in. So, I have officially joined the Minivan club. We got a 2010 Mazda5 and it is so cute. Exterior is "Galaxy Gray Mica" and interior is black. It is a lot smaller than what we are used to, but it is a lot of fun to drive. The girls have captain chairs, which is nice to keep them separated and they just think it is so cool!

One of the perks of having a husband who travels, we can go with him to great places. This time, we went along for a 24 hour trip to Melbourne, FL (east coast beach, for those of you who don't know where it is) and stayed on the beach. The beach was not crowded at all and we had a great time relaxing in the sun.

View from our hotel room.

After Dad finished working, we went to dinner then back out to the beach for some surfing fun.
Reagan was so excited about trying to surf and could not wait to get out there. She did not stand up, but rode in on a few waves. The first wave, she fell off and sucked up a bunch of water. I was afraid she would not go back out, but she put on a smile and did it again. This time, she was determined to hold her nose the entire time.

Riley was excited to have a turn going surfing. Dad took her out there and first thing she tried to do was stand up! Crazy girl. She had a lot of fun, but Mom had a panic attack watching her.
