Our day trip ...

was the destination for today. Daddy is leaving on Wednesday for a long three months of work related travel. Therefore we wanted to do something different and fun before he left.

So we left the house at 9:30, stopped and picked up some breakfast and drove a good hour to visit the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium (which the aquarium part just opened a few weeks ago). It was a gloomy, rainy day ... therefore lots of mud and puddles. We had a good time though despite the weather and wore ourselves out. We got back home around 3:00 all tired, muddy, and ready to clean up! We are going to miss Daddy while he is gone, but we had a lot of fun today to hold us off until next time!

I tried to get a picture of the girls posing with the Albino Alligator, but Riley wouldn't stay still and Reagan was afraid to take her eyes off of him ... I guess she was afraid he would get her!

There was a neat tower where you can feed the Giraffe's from, however, my girls were apprehensive to feed them. So we just got some good pictures of the other people feeding them.


These monkey's were all huddled up together sleeping. Riley loves monkeys and enjoyed all the different ones we saw today.

Of course, we had to ride the carousel and who would of thought that this old carousel would have a Dalmatian to ride on! What Luck!

Riley was very concerned about the turtle eating the "apples". I told her they were tomatoes, but she did not care ... "Apples Mommy Apples".

The Albino Peacock was really cool too! I wish he would have opened his feathers so we could have seen them.

We got to go and feed the birds apples ... Reagan was not enjoying this at all. The birds were everywhere and would land on your head, shoulder, anything to eat.

Mommy even was brave enough to go in an feed them ... and for those of you who know Mommy well enough know that this was not easy for me to do with a smile on my face. What mom's do for their kids! Riley wanted to pick them up, she had a blast!

To end our day, Reagan and Daddy got to ride the new log ride. This little ride goes through part of the aquarium and then does the usual log dive. Reagan was so excited that she had her raincoat to keep her dry. She got on the ride willingly, but when they got to the "climb" part, she started to get nervous. Scott said she wanted to get off, but there was no way off. She hung in there and had a great time. When it was over, she asked to do it again. And she just got a little bit wet in the seat, not much though!

To close out the year ...

Goodbye 2008!

What a busy day to close out 2008. We started our day off by taking Riley to the ENT for another "tube" checkup. Her tubes are in place and doing their job sufficiently. She has not had an ear infection since she got her tubes back in February! Unfortunately for her, she did get diagnosed with a sinus infection ... so off to the pharmacy for some antibiotic.

Next, we took Reagan to Cool Cuts to get her a much needed hair cut. It is not very often that I want to cut Reagan's hair, as I love her long hair. But after a year of putting her hair up in cute hairstyles, her poor hair was all broken and damaged. So, we got a cute haircut to start off our new year. By the way, her face is healing well ... it looks much worse than it did, but that is just the healing process!

Then we came home and put all the Christmas stuff in the attic and cleaned out the car and the garage. Reagan enjoyed riding her bike around and playing with the neighbors cat while Riley took a nap.

Then, SURPRISE! Dad came home from work early! Yeah!

Reagan went to Rylee Crum's house for a much needed play date, since we have not seen Rylee Crum in FOREVER! While Reagan was playing "girlie" things over there, Dad took us to play some golf. Riley had a blast running around the golf course and "playing" with her daddy.

After golf, we picked up Reagan and headed out for some yummy Mexican food at Macayo's. The girls had so much fun and were in a great mood.

We came home and played Wii games until bed time. Riley went to bed about 8:30, Reagan ended up falling asleep on the floor while we played Guitar Hero, which Mom & Dad ended up playing until are fingers were cramped up!

What a great New Year's Eve for us. We had a good 2008, very quiet for us, and hope that 2009 will be the same!

Accidents Happen ...

The day after Christmas was such a perfect day ... almost. We stayed in our pajamas most of the day and played with all our new toys. We were sucked into Guitar Hero, Mario Kart, and of course, Biscuit and the baby dolls. We decided we needed to re-arrange the girls bedrooms to fit their newly acquired toys.

While in the process of re-arranging Riley's room, I decided to vacuum the floor. As I was in the middle of the "vacuum" motion, Reagan came running into the room and the handle of the vacuum collided with her face. The poor baby ... she flew through the air due to there being so much impact. Immediately, her jaw started to bruise and she was hysterical. Her face hurt her so much, she couldn't function. I felt HORRIBLE. We got ice on it within a minute, which helped with the swelling. There was a perfect half circle where the handle hit her. Thank goodness we got lots of good movies for Christmas, we pretty much had a lazy day after that.

She is feeling much better now, her jaw is bruised and cut, but hopefully it will heal and not leave a bad scar.

Merry Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas from the Posti's. We had a great Christmas morning. The girls slept until about 7:00am (which is great for them) and were so excited about all the presents under the tree. We were woken up by Reagan running in our room saying "Santa came and he didn't wrap Riley's table!". She must have woken up, went and checked out the tree, then came to us! Everyone was very pleased with all their presents. Santa did good this year!

And, last but not least, poor Irbe. He got a "ho ho ho" shirt for Christmas, and wore it all day long! We were so impressed he wasn't bothered by it at all!

Some Sully love ...

We sure do love our new Cousin, Baby Sullivan. Well, at least Riley does. Reagan pretty much did not notice his existance. Riley, on the other hand, would not leave the poor baby alone. Everytime she would wake up, she would ask for the baby. Everytime he was in the swing, she would try and take him out ... literally, by his feet. Everytime he would eat, she would flip out because she was not holding him. Thank goodness he is not our baby, or I think I would go crazy with Riley all over him all the time. She sure was sweet to him though ... she would give him blankets, hats, his pacifier, and even crackers when we would say that he was hungry (don't worry, she didn't put them in his mouth). She was a good "big" sister/cousin while we were there. We tried to get Reagan to hold him, but she would not even touch him ... it is funny how they can be so different!

Early Christmas with Family

While still in Texas, we celebrated an early Christmas with mommy's family. We had a great time opening gifts and eating yummy food over at Aunt Sandy's house. Reagan, surprisingly, enjoyed the prime rib and asked for not only seconds, but thirds. For those of you who don't know Reagan's eating habits, asking for more food is a BIG deal. We sure did have a good time visiting with family the past two weeks, but we are ready to go home, back to Daddy and Irbe. Arizona we are on our way tomorrow!

Merry Christmas Mom Sher & Granddaddy!

We took the girls up to the cemetary to give Mom Sher & Granddaddy Bob some new flowers for Christmas. I was a little nervous to take Reagan up there, not sure what she was going to think. She was very strong and seemed to handle the situation very well. The girls seemed to enjoy walking around looking at all the different flowers. Reagan was very proud to have given Mom Sher her new flowers.

Happy Birthday to Sullivan McRay Higgins, born December 15th at 11:46 am at Frisco Baylor Hospital. He weighs 7 lbs 9 ozs and is 20 inches long. Aunt Kimmie and Sullivan are doing great. We are so happy he is here and we are looking forward to spending the week with him.

Our first week in Texas

We made it to Texas!

The flight was about what I expected, Reagan did great ... Riley, not so much. Riley screamed the first 20 minutes and the last 30 minutes. She was not happy unless she was "on her own". We got a lot of "nice" looks from all the other passengers around us. The movie player worked like a charm for the middle of the flight ... thank goodness for technology! The flight was only two hours, so it was nothing we could not handle.

Once we got to Aunt Kimmie's house, we (the adults) started cleaning out the attic, getting all the baby items out and cleaned for the new baby on the way. The entire family room was packed full of boxes, bins, and toys. All the kids had a blast playing in the huge mess. Riley thought is was so cool to have a baby swing ... she climbed into it on her own and sits in it everyday.

Tuesday, we went to a friends house for a play date. It was a nice day when we started out, close to 70 degrees. By the time we finished our play date at lunch, it was in the upper 40's. By dinner time, it was below freezing, and we had a little bit of sleet/snow. Nothing great, but just enough to let you know it was COLD!



Thursday, we went to see Santa Claus. This was Reagan's second time seeing Santa, and both times she asked for the same thing ... then she told me she is going to get two of what she asked for, because she asked Santa for it twice and he said yes, both times! Riley was a little unsure if she wanted to get close to Santa, so I went with her. Then we went to Chili's for a birthday lunch for Aodhan ... he will be three on Dec 14th.




Thursday night, we took the kids to see the lights & decorations in a big neighborhood called Deerfield. This neighborhood has it in their HOA guidelines that you have to decorate your house, so almost every house was decorated to the tee. We saw a couple houses that had their lights choreographed to music, it was really cool and the kids really enjoyed it. We got a really cool video of this one house, hopefully it looks as good to you as it did to us!

We will update more as we go through our second week. Baby Sullivan will be born on Monday, Dec. 15 ... we are spending our last weekend with three kids preparing for next week ... I am sure it will be hectic and crazy with a newborn and all the kids, but it will be so great to see the little one.

Signing off for a while ...

After a long day of packing, we are finally ready. The Posti girls are headed to Texas for a few weeks to see family, friends, and welcome our new nephew/cousin to the world.
For those of you in Texas, we hope to catch up with you while we are in town.
For those of you who follow the blog, hopefully we will be able to update the blog while we are gone ... if not, we will be sure to get lots of new pictures on once we get home.

Zoolights 2008

Last night, we went to the Phoenix Zoo to the "Zoolights". The weather was so beautiful, around 65 degrees and the zoo was not crowded at all. We enjoyed the wonderful display of lights with our good friends The Bower's. The zoo uses so many lights, it is crazy. The trees were so beautiful ... my favorite was this one Blue Tree.

The kids favorite part was "Jengo" the talking giraffe. He even spoke to the kids, calling them by their names (thanks to the parents passing along the kids names to the right people). Riley was a little confused about a talking giraffe. Her favorite part,by far, was seeing the live Elephant. She talked about seeing that elephant all night, and woke up this morning still talking about it.

The pictures are not good at all ... taking picutres at night, of Christmas Lights, is obviously not our thing. Here are a couple of shots just for you to see! Enjoy!

Warm weather still ...

We are still enjoying nice, beautiful, warm weather. We still have highs in the mid 70's sometimes warmer. The girls are loving the outside time. We finally dug out the Dora Jeep and charged it up. Unfortunately, it is only a one seater, but Riley has found a way to hitch a ride.

She holds on tight enough not to fall ... it still makes me a little nervous watching them drive off though. Oh, the stress of being a MOM!
